Welcome to Strupak Cottage, a private, peaceful and cosy home away from home for your weekend break, holiday or vacation in Nelson, New Zealand.  Nestled between the city hills and Nelson city centre, this historic cottage is located in the quiet and friendly neighbourhood of The Wood, yet is only a ten minute walk to Nelson city centre. 

This charming heritage cottage is one of the first properties built in The Wood. It's original name, Strupak (pronounced stroo-pack), is the Gaelic word for "tea, scones and conversation" offered to passing travellers.

Whilst retaining the original facade from 1866, this one-bedroomed cottage has been renovated internally to provide comfortable and welcoming accommodation that tastefully blends the contemporary with the traditional. Offering the styling and quality furnishings of a boutique bed and breakfast at a fraction of the cost, this self contained holiday accommodation is ideal for couples looking for a romantic get-away or central base for exploring the wider Nelson region. Carefully chosen furniture and antiques, original artwork and use of luxurious fabrics adds a touch of sophistication to the homely feel. 

The bedroom features a queen size bed with quality mattress, luxurious cotton bed linen and large fluffy bathtowels.  Thick drapes ensure total darkness and warmth to guarantee a good night's sleep. For added comfort there are large bedside tables, touch-operated bedside lamps and electric blankets.

The living room has a comfortable sofa and chairs, flat screen TV with Freeview, DVD player, a selection of DVDs, CDs, books and magazines and a stereo. WiFi is available for a small extra charge. 

The modern kitchen is well equipped with fridge freezer, oven, microwave, kettle and toaster. Complimentary pantry basics such as tea, coffee, flour, salt and pepper, herbs & spices, olive oil, etc are supplied. 

The bathroom has a shower over the bath and separate toilet. There is a washing machine with powder and fabric conditioner supplied, and a spacious clothes line in the garden to air-dry any washing in Nelson's glorious sun! A small sunroom with dining table overlooks the hills and lush private garden which gets all-day sun.

Sit on the sunny veranda at the front and watch the world go by, or opt for the peace and tranquility of the fully fenced private garden at the rear with views of the hills.
